Official description

A subgenre of horror that emerged in the mid to late 1970s with films like Black Christmas, Halloween & The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. The general plot to all slashers involves a murderer stalking and killing a group of people. Common tropes seen in most slashers include explicit gore, female nudity, and having a "Final Girl" character.
